Concert Hall

One of the world’s most sought-after venues, the Concert Hall is a performance space like no other. With its cathedral-like ambience and unrivalled majesty, every performance on this stage is one to remember.

Joan Sutherland Theatre

The Joan Sutherland Theatre is the Opera House's second-largest indoor venue and home to Opera Australia and the Australian Ballet. With a flexible stage, extensive fly system, and room for up to 70 musicians in the orchestra pit, it's a versatile space for various genres.

Studio

The Studio is our most flexible venue and can be shaped to suit a wide array of productions, from a club scene to a crazy cabaret.

Drama Theatre

The Drama Theatre, which seats up to 544 people, is the more intimate of the Opera House's two proscenium arch theatres.

Playhouse

A space for storytelling, this room often plays host to productions for younger audiences, as well as dance and experimental theatrical experiences.

Centre for Creativity

The Centre for Creativity is the place to imagine, play and try something new. Discover workshops for children and lifelong learning experiences. This is also the home to the Opera House’s renowned Children, Families and Creative Learning program.

Utzon Room

Elegance, intimacy and impeccable acoustics combine in this small but impressive space. Seating just 200, the Utzon Room is adorned with a vibrant tapestry by Jorn Utzon himself.

Forecourt

Experience stunning harbour views and outdoor performances at the Forecourt. This location has to be one of the most iconic Sydney settings.

Northern Broadwalk

Take a stroll and soak up the harbour views at Northern Broadwalk, one of the best vantage points in Sydney. The Northern Broadwalk has a standing capacity for up to 2400 general admission.

Monumental Steps and Podium Level

Climb the Monumental Steps for stunning views, especially at sunrise or sunset. The best place to view Badu Gili, a First Nations projected artwork, is from the steps.
