“A world class production” - The Guardian

After a sellout, rave-reviewed season in Melbourne, this lush, romantic, and transporting portrait of an Australian art icon – the irrepressible Sunday Reed – is having its Sydney premiere. Written by the acclaimed playwright Anthony Weigh, Sunday is inspired by the stories and myths of the Heide Circle – the renowned group of friends, lovers, and rivals that produced some of this country’s most beloved visual artists, including Albert Tucker and Joy Hester.

Beautifully directed by Sarah Goodes (Julia), with a cast of Matt Day, Ratidzo Mambo, Josh McConville and Nikki Shiels, this grand, Melbourne Theatre Company production is a gorgeous collision of love, politics, history and art. And, just like its magnetic, unconventional and audacious protagonist, Sunday is enchanting.
